Preparation for the Written (Part I) Exam -- June 17th-June 22nd, 2024 with optional independent study until June 28th

Preparation for Part I includes lectures and a comprehensive question bank. Participants will increase their fund of knowledge through daily lectures covering the breadth of orthopaedic subspecialties through the first 5 days of the course.

MOR offers a comprehensive question bank, based on past and present testable orthopaedic points. Our current format includes thousands of board-relevant questions and answers with references. This portion of the course is available for several months prior to the exam with paid tuition up to the date of the board exam.

Tuition for the course is $1,700.00. This fee covers the first 5 1/2 days of lectures and all online learning materials. There is no further tuition charge for an additional stay on campus for 5 days of self study, although housing charges for these additional days will apply.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Hospital for Special Surgery and the Maine Orthopaedic Review. Hospital for Special Surgery is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Hospital for Special Surgery designates this Other activity (live activity participation and minimum 6.75 hours of self-guided question bank study) for a maximum of 50.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Preparation for the Oral (Part II) Exam -- June 17th-June 22nd, 2024

This is an outstanding opportunity for the Oral Examination (Part II) candidate to organize, optimize and present cases selected by the ABOS for presentation at the oral board examination. Candidates present to case-matched subspecialists and a small group, receive critical feedback, and hone the skills necessary for board success. Our goal is for each candidate to present all cases at least once to a faculty member with constructive feedback necessary for success on the oral boards.

The participant will gain a thorough understanding of the mechanics of the Part 2 board examination. The goal is to spend time refining case presentations, learning the pertinent information required to present a cogent case, and learning to avoid common pitfalls. We aim for the participant to present all cases at least once to faculty. Cases are presented to subspecialist faculty who are nationally and internationally renown in their fields. Often, there are several candidates presenting cases to one or more faculty. Appropriate allocation of time is given to cycle through each candidate's cases. Our faculty is very committed to teaching and honing the case presentation to maximize success at the time of the examination. They often spend extra time, working after hours, helping you refine your presentations. We pride ourselves on having a collaborative, fair, and cooperative atmosphere that helps everyone.

Fee for Part II: $2,700.00. Register for housing separately.
